Sumítica island is much smaller than Búzios island and is situated a bit farther from Ilhabela’s shore (to get there it takes about 2:30 hours aboard Netuno and 1:50 hour aboard Maria do Mar). And it’s exactly this greater distance from shore what makes it a special dive site.
The average depth found there is around 15ft and 120ft. The bottom is constituted by huge rocks that form little caverns and beautiful walls. Sumítica island is the ideal place for divers who want to see schools of fishes and some big groupers.
